The winter is almost over and that means that it’s the right time to start buying the winter fashions that you loved but couldn’t afford. Those shops are trying to move stock to make room for their spring and summer collections. This is just as true for dog clothes as it is for people clothes. If you are just looking to make you dog look fashionable then you can get whatever you want but with certain breeds, dog clothes serve a dual purpose. They look god and help your puppy stay warm and dry.
My first dog was a husky breed so I never had any reason to worry about her getting cold. In fact, I hate to worry more about overheating in the summer. She loved the snow and would basically sleep in it. The newest dog in my life is a pit-bull mix and has very short hair with super low body fat. That means that she gets cold very easily and I’m often worried about her getting hypothermia. Some pieces of dog clothes have become essential in our home. The first piece was a parka that a relative bought for her as a joke. The first time I put it on her was the first time I saw her happy in the snow. She was comfortable for the first time and dog boots made all the difference.
